How does our energy system work, and who does it work for?
Join South Bronx Unite for a community learning and visioning session on our power grid and energy justice right here in Mott Haven and Port Morris.
For too long, our neighborhood has carried the burden of the city’s energy system. We host 4 peaker power plants on our waterfront, that, in extreme heat like this, adds extra pollution to our air. Right now, we have no say it how it runs.
On Thursday the 16th, we’ll talk about changing that. We’ll break down how our grid works, explore what a community-managed cooperative virtual power plant could look like, and imagine an energy future that’s built for us.
