HEArts Fall Festival 2025: Flowers For Our Elders
Saturday, Nov 8 @ Brook Park Community Garden
Thank you all for joining us in honoring our elders and closing out the fall season of the H.E.Arts Festivals with such power and love. It was a blessing to share food, dance, holistic healing, stories, and community together.
We were able to posthumously honor Daniel “Danny” Chervoni—our beloved land steward from friends of brook park —in his favorite place on Earth, where we continue to feel his spirit every day!
Breathe Easier: DIY Air Purifier Giveaway
Saturday, Oct 25 @ 360 E 145th S
This past weekend, we handed out and taught community members how to make DIY air purifiers! We continue to raise awareness about the health disparities caused by polluting infrastructure — from major expressways and power plants to last-mile truck routes.
But the day wasn’t all about challenges — building these Corsi-rosenthal DIY air purifiers with families was such a fun and uplifting experience!
Special thanks to The Mission Continues and their amazing team of volunteers for making it all possible, and to MS/HS 223 for hosting us!
HEArts Fall Festival 2025: The Healing Project Choir
Saturday, Sept 13th @ Willis Ave Playground
We kicked off our HEArts Fall Festival with a powerful performance by artist Samora Pinderhughes and The Healing Project Choir — their voices were truly soul-touching, and words can’t fully capture the experience!

HEArts Center Spring Festival
Saturday, June 14th @ Willis Playground
The HEArts Center Spring Festival spotlighted the holistic practices and creative programming that will one day thrive at the soon-to-be HEArts Center.
Dr. Drum grounded us in our origins, using the power of the drum to guide us back to the heartbeat in our mother’s womb. We were moved by the powerful words of Bonafide Rojas, who took us on a journey through the Boogie Down. And we closed the day with Karla Mayenbeer Cruz reading her children’s book, The Adventures of Pepita Morales at City Hall—awakening both our inner child and our activist spirit. We’re also grateful to the practitioners from Qi Wellness and the Five Lights Center of Shiatsu, who helped ease our bodies, and to Samaritan Daytop Village for sharing resources and tabling with us.

Thank you to everyone who made Saturday’s 2nd Bronx Food & Farm Tours: Environmental Justice in Mott Haven and Port Morris such a memorable day! HEArts Center Healing Festival
Saturday, October 5th @ Willis Playground
Thank you to everyone who came to our HEArts Center Festival. We are turning our community's vision for the former Lincoln Recovery Center into reality by creating a people’s center focused on holistic health, education, and the arts: HEArts Center. Community healing was at the heart of the festival. We danced to UpBeat NYC’s live saxophones, enjoyed delicious food provided by Unconditional Freedom, skateboarded and rollerbladed with GoSports, and restored our energy with Qi Zone Wellness holistic practices. Lastly, we are grateful to OnPoint NYC for co-organizing this beautiful event with us.

Seeing kids' smiles, parents taking pictures of the river, people relaxing and enjoying the music were priceless and a powerful reminder of the urgency to advance the community-envisioned Mott Haven - Port Morris WaterFront Plan Thanks to all community members who joined and to A House on Beekman, Korean Art Forum and NYC DSA for contributing to the success of this event.
